Drama Assistant/Musical

**POSITION:** Drama Assistant/Musical 
**BUILDING:** Scenic Middle School
**PAY RATE:** $738.68 - $2462.26, depending upon approved previous experience


**POSITION DUTIES:**

* Evaluate student vocal and instrumental talent during auditions to assist with casting and pit band placement.
* Run regular vocal rehearsals with the cast and separate instrumental rehearsals with the student pit band.
* Instruct students on vocal techniques, sight-reading, rhythm, and basic music theory concepts required for the score.
* Combine the student pit band and the onstage cast during technical and dress rehearsals to balance sound levels.
* Direct and cue the student pit band from the keyboard during all live show runs.
* Work closely with the Director and Choreographer to align musical pacing with acting and dance numbers.
* Simplify or transpose complex musical arrangements to match the skill levels and vocal ranges of high school students.
