School of Rock Naples is looking for an energetic, patient and dependable educator to lead our Little Wing and Rookies early childhood music programs. While a basic understanding of music is helpful, we are primarily looking for someone who is exceptional with young children. Responsibilities The Early Childhood Music Program Director will: - Lead engaging weekly Little Wing and Rookies group classes - Follow School of Rock’s established curriculum and lesson materials - Create a fun, structured and encouraging classroom environment - Use games, movement, singing and hands-on activities to keep young students involved - Introduce students to basic rhythm, listening and musical concepts - Help Rookies students safely explore multiple instruments - Adjust activities based on students’ ages, personalities and developmental needs - Manage transitions, attention spans and classroom behavior in a positive way - Learn each student’s personality, strengths and areas where they may need additional support - Communicate regularly and professionally with parents - Provide parents and school leadership with updates about student participation and progress - Prepare classrooms, instruments and materials before each class - Keep teaching spaces organized, clean and safe - Work with the school’s management team to grow and strengthen both programs - Help create a welcoming first experience for families entering School of Rock What We Are Looking For Our ideal candidate: - Genuinely enjoys working with children between the ages of 4 and 7 - Has experience in early childhood education, elementary education, preschool, childcare, children’s programs, camps, recreation, theater, dance or a similar setting - Understands how to communicate with young children in a patient and encouraging way - Can confidently lead a group and maintain a positive classroom structure - Is enthusiastic, expressive and comfortable being playful and animated - Is dependable, organized and prepared - Communicates professionally with parents and coworkers - Is comfortable learning and following an established curriculum - Is open to coaching, training and ongoing development - Can create an inclusive environment for children with different personalities, learning styles and experience levels Music Experience Advanced musical ability is not required. Some experience singing, keeping a steady rhythm or playing a musical instrument is helpful, but we are willing to train the right educator in the School of Rock curriculum and the basic musical skills needed to lead these classes. A successful Little Wing and Rookies Director does not simply teach children about music.
