Orlando Youth Chamber Ensembles (OYCE) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that offers a collection of ensembles, which provide a variety of musical experiences for students in Central Florida. Each ensemble is a place for students to develop their skills, collaborate with peers, and perform a wide range of music.
Position Overview The Ensemble Director position at OYCE offers an exciting opportunity to lead one of our ensembles, providing high-quality instruction and fostering artistic growth for young students in a collaborative, performance-focused environment. This is a part-time, contract position based at multiple locations throughout Central Florida.
Pay: $100 per service
Frequency: Ensemble meets once per week

Key Responsibilities
Conduct weekly rehearsals of your ensemble, focusing on chamber music, ensemble blend, and specialized techniques.
Select appropriate, engaging chamber music literature tailored to the skill levels of participating students.
Provide guidance on instrument-specific nuances, including tone production, technique, and instrument maintenance.
Foster a positive, encouraging learning environment that inspires student growth and confidence.
Assist in recruiting students for the program in collaboration with area band directors and private instructors.
Collaborate with the Orlando Youth Chamber Ensembles Administration and Executive team for logistical support and resources.
Qualifications
Strong performance background, with solid ensemble and chamber music experience.
Demonstrated skills in ensemble direction, rehearsal planning, and musical leadership with youth or student musicians.
Experience in music education, pedagogy, and coaching of middle and high school students, including tone, technique, and musicianship development.
Ability to design and adapt repertoire and learning goals to varying skill levels in a chamber music setting.
Clear, professional communication skills for working with students, families, colleagues, and partner organizations.
Strong organizational and time-management skills for scheduling, documentation, and concert preparation.
Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and respectful learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
Bachelor's degree in Music Performance, Music Education, or a related field required; advanced degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
Experience collaborating with arts organizations, schools, or community programs in an educational or outreach capacity is beneficial.
Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed for rehearsals, performances, and special events.
Pay: $100.00 per day
