Music Teacher Position Overview The Lansing School District is committed to providing an excellent education to students in a safe and nurturing environment. This position involves teaching music to K-4 students, ensuring they receive world-class instruction and experience throughout their time in the district. Our teachers must work to build positive relationships with students and parents to create a welcoming and engaging learning environment. Required Skills and Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in music education or music practice • Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values Preferred Qualifications: • Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with specialty endorsement (will be required to enroll in program if don't currently possess) • Previous successful music teaching experience in urban setting Job Responsibilities: • Demonstrate passion for and expertise in music • Provide high-quality instruction in music • Use data to guide and effectively differentiate instruction • Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions • Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment • Perform other duties as assigned to best support the district's mission
