Role Description This is a part-time, on-site role for an Experienced Keyboard Player with a working band, located in Jackson Township, NJ. The keyboard player will rehearse regularly, learn and maintain a broad repertoire across multiple genres, and perform at scheduled gigs including weddings, parties, corporate events, and public shows. Major responsibilities include attending rehearsals, programming and managing keyboard sounds and patches, and coordinating with other musicians to ensure tight arrangements and transitions. The role involves setting up and breaking down gear, participating in sound checks, adapting to different performance environments, and maintaining a professional stage presence. The keyboard player is expected to be punctual, dependable, and able to work weekdays, and some weekends, as required by the performance schedule.

Qualifications

Strong keyboard performance skills, including solid technique, timing, and the ability to play both lead and accompaniment parts.Proficiency in multiple genres (e.g., Some Oldies, Motown, Yacht rock, Classic rock, R&B, and Classic standards from the American song book) and the ability to learn new material quickly by ear and from charts.Experience with keyboard programming, sound selection, and use of digital keyboards, synthesizers, and MIDI controllers in live settings.Ability to read chord charts, lead sheets, and basic background and lead vocalsStrong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with vocalists, rhythm section, and production staff.Reliable transportation and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays and some weekends. Professional appearance and demeanor, with comfort performing in front of diverse audiences and at formal events.Previous experience performing with a working band or in live entertainment settings; studio or recording experience is a plus.Basic understanding of live sound (levels, monitoring) and stage etiquette to ensure efficient set-up and performance flow.High level of responsibility, including consistent attendance at rehearsals, timely communication, and readiness to perform.
