Founding Design Lead

There are over 500 million musicians worldwide; however, 80% of musicians can't play the songs they want because they don't have access to sheet music for their instrument at their level. If you're excited by the intersection of AI, music, and learning, and want to shape how the next generation of musicians learn, we'd love to hear from you. Songscription is hiring a Founding Design Lead to help shape the next generation of tools for music learning. You'll collaborate closely with our CPO, engineering team, and marketing team to define the core experience of our existing music transcription product and lay the groundwork for our future music learning app. About You • 3+ years of full-time design experience, ideally at startups or fast-paced teams where you owned end-to-end UI/UX design • Proven experience designing for consumer-facing products, with a strong understanding of how design drives engagement and retention • Strong portfolio demonstrating sharp design instincts, attention to detail, and an ability to balance beauty with usability • Collaborative and clear communicator who thrives in cross-functional environments and moves quickly from idea to execution • Able to work in-person at our San Francisco Bay Area office • Experience playing an instrument and/or strong passion for music • (Bonus) Familiarity with music transcription and music data formats (e.g., MIDI, MusicXML, etc.)
