Front of House Customer Service at Local Performing Arts School

Music House is looking for friendly, warm, organized, people-focused Front of House (FOH) team members to join our community. If you love welcoming families, supporting young artists, and keeping a busy, creative space running smoothly, then this is the job for you!

As part of the administrative team, FOH staff are the first faces students and families see when they walk through our doors. You’ll greet families, support teachers, manage daily studio operations, and help ensure every person who enters the building feels valued, supported, and at home.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys fast-paced, meaningful work; is comfortable juggling many tasks; and thrives in a warm, community-centered environment.

Job Responsibilities

Be the Welcoming Presence of the Studio

Greet every student, family member, and visitor with warmth and professionalism.
Build relationships with families by learning names, asking about their day, and offering help before it’s needed.
Support families with scheduling, registration, program questions, and Music House policies.

Support Teachers & Scheduling

Coordinate teacher schedules, time-off requests, and attendance tracking.
Match students with teachers using Music House’s Matching Guide.
Monitor teacher arrival and communication; flag any concerns.
Assist with substitute coverage and communicate changes to families.

Keep the Studio Running Smoothly

Open or close the studio (depending on shift) and ensure all areas are clean, safe, and welcoming.
Manage day-to-day operations: scheduling, attendance, billing, and updating Jackrabbit.
Restock supplies, tidy common spaces, and perform basic maintenance (trash, paper restock, checking rooms, etc.).
Ensure studio safety and respond promptly to unexpected issues.

Communicate with Care

Respond to emails, calls, texts, and Parent Portal messages using a friendly, solutions-oriented tone.
Keep Studio Manager informed of issues or trends.
Use Basecamp and Google Suite to stay aligned with the administrative team.

Promote Programs & Support Events

Share information about Music House programs with prospective and current families.
Support studio events, recitals, and performances.
Assist with seasonal transitions, merchandise restocking, and general administrative projects.

Qualifications

Required

Passion for arts education and community-based work.
Experience in customer service, administrative work, or a similar role.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication.
Ability to multitask and maintain calm in a busy environment.
Reliability, professionalism, and sound judgment.

Preferred

Experience in education, arts organizations, or nonprofits.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).

Hours, Location & Benefits

Mondays: 5pm-8:30pm
Wednesdays: 5pm-8:30pm
Saturdays: 8:30am-3:30pm
Sundays: 8:30am-3:30pm

Evening and/or weekend availability required depending on programming needs.
PTO, paid holidays, and other Music House benefits available to eligible staff.
