Applicant should be prepared to guide students to enjoy, appreciate, and interpret music in their daily life. Applicant should be comfortable exposing students to various genres of beautiful music, developing their knowledge and ability in performance and teaching music theory. This position requires a background in general music, voice, and piano. • Adhere to all NOCA policies • Guide students to enjoy, appreciate, and interpret music • Encourage and assist students to acquire skills in music through a series of sequential experiences • Encourage and promote the coordination of music with other subject areas in the curriculum • Determine the materials to be used in instruction and the best methods for their presentation • Plan, prepare, and present annual programs for the school • Evaluate student performance in music • Inventory, organize, order, and care for music materials and equipment • Other duties as assigned Qualifications • Bachelor's degree or higher • Previous experience in classical education is preferred, but not required • Vocal and piano skills • Orff, Dalcroze, Kodaly experience preferred, but not required • Recorder experience preferred, but not required • Commitment to model moral character in line with the school's core virtues and the pursuit of the Good, True, and Beautiful • Possess exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills • Demonstrated ability to and experience in engaging the interest and wonder of school-age children • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member • Demonstrates a commitment to continued personal and professional growth, and a commitment to model wonder, curiosity, and a passion for lifelong learning
