Lastly, additional teaching opportunities are available for candidates with the ability to play and teach multiple instruments. Essential • Must have Bachelor's degree in music performance/education with knowledge in the field of instrument-specific performance/pedagogy or equivalent experience • Minimum of 2-3 years teaching experience in classroom group settings (public school preferred) • Required for Sound Production, preferred for others: Expertise in recording technologies, sound production, and utilizing different audio recording software (e.g. GarageBand, Logic, ProTools) • Required for Bilingual Music Education, preferred for others: Fluency in Spanish • Strong time management and classroom management skills • Ability to adapt to individual needs of a diverse student population and provide constructive feedback • Must be adept at and comfortable with working in a culturally diverse environment with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion as pedagogical and professional values • Interest in the following focus areas: Culturally Responsive Teaching, Creative Youth Development - Student Voice/Agency, and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) • Regularly reflects on practice, seeks and responds to feedback, and demonstrates self-awareness and commitment to continuous learning and development • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, when conversing with students, families, and colleagues • Skilled at engaging with families and building collaborative, respectful relationships with them in service of student learning • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite (Google Docs, Google Forms, and Google Sheets) Preferred • Experience working in a public school or community setting • Fluency in Spanish, Mandarin/Cantonese, French, and/or Haitian Creole • Experience working with with students with specialized needs (e.g. disability, diagnosis) Please apply at https://cmcb.isolvedhire.com/jobs.
