Job Description

Regularly assess student progress and understandingReflect on classes as to what is working what could be improvedParticipate in professional development activities, both internal (led by music director, owner and visiting experts) and external (outside training opportunities,, attending conferences, and engaging in best practice sharing with others in the Bloom community)Assist in curriculum development if necessaryConstantly ask “How can we do this better?”Meet children where they areParticipating as an active member of the community to provide stewardship of the school and adherence to its mission and guiding principlesPositive and regular communication with the families taking classesMaintaining a high level of professionalism including arriving 10-15 minutes early to prepare the room, timely responses in all communications with front office staff, admin, director and owners, taking attendance in every class, meeting deadlines and commitments to self, students and the community, give lesson plans in advance for every semester as well as reflections afterwardConstant education toward caregivers to help them understand what students are learning and whyFind music that is relatable to studentsAsk questions and seek support

Preferred Qualifications

At least BM in MusicAlso teach bass and ukuleleConverse in a second languagePrior experience in teaching private and group lessonsPlay and teach variety of stylesUnderstand pedagogy and how to scaffold concepts and goals
