Guitar Instructor

Job brief
Job Pay: $20 - $30 an hour

Job Categories: Recreational Arts Instructors (Education & Instruction)

Job Types: Parttime, Contract

Job Locations: Reading, PA

We are looking for private music instructors, especially for Guitar. There is no brick‑and‑mortar studio in Reading, PA, but we have students needing teachers ASAP. Lessons can occur in students’ homes, in your own home or studio, or via webcam. While webcam requests are a small percentage, most students prefer in‑person lessons, so local instructors who can host students or travel to students in Reading are needed.

Compensation is on an independent contractor basis between $20–$30 per hour, dependent on travel time, experience/education, and student retention rate. Instructors set their own schedule, curriculum, and lesson plans. We handle advertising, marketing, SEO, and billing to allow instructors to focus on teaching music.

We look for candidates who are great with kids, love teaching, maintain good communication with our office, and are organized and punctual for all lessons. Formal music training is not mandatory, but a degree in music, enrollment in a music program, professional performing experience, or previous teaching experience is required.

Additional requirements: Must wear a mask, sanitize hands, and practice social distancing when applicable.
