Guitar Instructor (Part-Time)

School of Rock is seeking an inspiring Guitar Instructor who can bring the beat to life for students of all ages and skill levels — from their first quarter note to their first live show!

Our instructors don’t just teach songs — they teach the spirit of rock and roll. You’ll help students gain confidence, develop musical skills, and discover what it feels like to play with others.

We teach five core instruments — drums, guitar, bass, keys, and vocals — and love when instructors bring a broader range of musical skills. Multi-instrumentalists who can support other programs are always a big plus!

What You’ll Do

Lead private drum lessons using the School of Rock Method™ — ensuring students build fundamentals, not just play along
Inspire students with creative, dynamic lesson experiences that balance fun with progress
Create and document thoughtful lesson plans using our SongFIRST Method, Books, and Method App
Coach proper technique, timing, and groove, helping students lock in rhythm with real-world musicality
Encourage collaboration and confidence in every student — whether they’re jamming solo or rehearsing with a band

Connect With Families

Communicate regularly with parents through lesson notes and assignments in the Method App
Be visible and accessible — offering feedback, celebrating milestones, and helping families feel part of the rock journey

What We’re Looking For

2+ years of experience teaching or performing drums professionally
Solid understanding of music theory, reading, and rhythm development
Excellent communicator — patient, upbeat, and motivational
Strong organizational and customer-relations skills
Resourceful, dependable, and able to handle multiple students and goals
Multi-instrumentalists encouraged — guitar, bass, or keys experience a huge plus
Passion for working with students of all ages and skill levels
Available a minimum of 2 days per week during our operating hours: Monday–Thursday 3pm to 9pm, Friday 3pm-6pm, Saturdays 10am-2pm
