Company Description
We are looking for a dedicated Guitar Teacher to work in our summer school, the B-Sharp Summer Music Enrichment Academy. The school commence is on Monday, June 29 and ends on Friday, July 31. Our closing recital is on Saturday, August 1.
Role Description
The Guitar Teacher will provide individual and group guitar instruction, focusing on music reading, skill development, guitar technique, and performance preparation. Additionally, the role will also involve teaching music theory, as well as creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students of varying skill levels. The guitar teacher will also be expected to play with the faculty ensemble.
Qualifications
• Proficiency in Guitar Instruction and comprehensive guitar techniques
• Be able to play a variety of music styles, including jazz, rhythm and blues, rock, gospel, and classical styles.
• Solid knowledge of Music Theory, music reading and the ability to incorporate it into lessons
• Experience working with students of diverse skill levels is a plus, but not a requirement
• Additional skills in Piano instruction are a plus, but not a requirement
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or extensive professional guitar performance
• Previous guitar teaching experience is a plus, but not a requirement
