High School Vocal Music Director for Musical

The vocal music director for the high school musical leads all vocal rehearsals, supports auditions, and prepares students for performances while collaborating with the high school theatre director, orchestra director, choreographer, and full production team. Qualifications: • Ability to teach, delegate, motivate, encourage, and mentor high school students • Experience working in theatre and an understanding of the creative and technical aspects of theatre • Previous musical theatre experience • Prior vocal coaching experience (preferred) • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills • Willingness to attend production meetings, as needed, and all performances • Ability to assist the director and orchestra director in selecting a rehearsal accompanist • Willingness and ability to collaborate on creative decisions regarding the production, including sound and microphone needs • Ability to support the musical director in conducting auditions and casting actors/singers/dancers • Ability to collaborate with musical director, instrumental staff, choreographer, and technical director • Ability to lead all vocal rehearsals and assist cast with learning the music • Ability to work after school, evenings, and weekends for rehearsals and performances • Willingness to be enthusiastic, flexible, and ability to work cooperatively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators • Willingness and ability to maintain regular, reliable, and punctual in-person attendance • Ability to complete other duties as assigned Location: East Grand Rapids High School Start Date: January 2026
