Hospice Musician - Ethos

**Schedule:** Part Time - 40 hours/pay period | Flexible Hours & Scheduling | Monday to Friday | 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

**Location**: Based out of our Fargo office with a 40 mile travel radius

As a Hospice Musician you would provide live, individualized musical experiences for hospice patients and their families as part of the hospice organization’s ancillary services. The Hospice Musician uses music to create moments of joy, connection, enjoyment, reminiscence, and companionship during the hospice experience. You’ll work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure that musical selections and performances are personalized, meaningful, and rooted in dignity.

As a Hospice Musician, you will:

* **Deliver Patient-Centered Music Sessions/Performances** – Provide music sessions that align with individualized preferences to promote spiritual and general well being. Evaluate and adapt musical selections and performances based on patient feedback and observed outcomes.
* **Collaborate Across Disciplines** – Work closely with RN Case Managers, social workers, chaplains, and other care team members to incorporate music performance to support patient's spiritual and general well-being. Communicate regularly with care team members.
* **Lead & Promote Music Programs** – Contribute to annual memorial services, lead group opportunities for music engagement, and wok with our facility partners to schedule ongoing sing alongs and group events. Assist in integrating music into other hospice and wellness initiatives.

**Job Requirements:**

* A degree or certification in music therapy is **not required** for this position. Formal musical training, performance experience, or demonstrated musical proficiency is preferred.
* Proficiency in at least one musical instrument and established music therapy techniques is preferred.
* Previous experience in hospice, healthcare, senior living, community programming, or similar settings preferred.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Compassionate, respectful, dependable, and comfortable working with individuals and families experiencing serious illness and end-of-life circumstances.
* Valid driver’s license and use of an insured personal vehicle.
* Ability to work independently and with teams in home and facility-based hospice environments.
* Ability to pass state mandated background checks.
* Physical capability to perform all essential job functions.
* Ability to read, write, and speak English to ensure effective communication with team members, residents, and families.
