HS Show Band Sponsor Instructs athletes regarding techniques, rules and safety practices of the sportDevelops and organizes practice programSchedules and conducts practices according to agreed-upon schedulesSupervises athletes from the scheduled beginning of the practice or game until the last athlete leaves, knowing where all participants are at all timesSupervises athletes on buses on trips to other schoolsPromotes the entire Norwalk Athletics/Activities programSets an example of the highest ethical and moral conduct including respecting and supporting contest officialsFosters among the participants and spectators an appreciation of the values of athletics, an attitude of good sportsmanship, and a sense of pride in self, team, school, and communityPromotes a healthy lifestyle to student athletesAssists the activities director to ensure that lists of all players eligible for athletic contests are prepared and maintained under the rules of Norwalk CSDEnsures that all athletes have completed and submitted all required documentation, including medical insurance coverage form and have undergone and passed any required medical examinations before the regular practice season beginsCommunicates with parents in regards to team rules and athletic department guidelinesKnows and understands the Norwalk Activities Department rules and regulationsAdheres to all safety laws and district policiesPerforms other duties as assigned by the Activities Director Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.
