Job Description
TITLE: HS Vocal Accompanist
POSITION TYPE: INST
STIPEND AMOUNT: $1793.00
HIRING SPECIFICATIONS:
Required: 1. Experience accompanying a vocal ensemble. 2. Ability to sight read vocal scores effectively.
Desired: 1. Degree in music, with an emphasis in vocal or piano performance.
BASIC FUNCTION: Conduct and administer performances and rehearsals of a high school jazz band.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Play piano for vocal department as needed in rehearsals and concerts.
Prepare music in a variety of styles and genres.
Maintain sensitivity to the ensemble needs.
Notify the director when the piano needs tuning and maintenance.
ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (for every DMPS position):
Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
Maintain confidentiality.
Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
Assist with other duties as may be assigned.
