Lead Parish Musician Wanted

Music Director Position Our organization seeks a skilled Music Director to oversee our music ministry. As the primary musician for all parish liturgies and special events, you will collaborate with clergy, staff, and volunteers to plan and execute musical elements that enhance our worship experience. • Coordinate music for all parish liturgies, funerals, weddings, and other events • Assume the role of lead parish musician, accompanying or directing choirs, instrumental ensembles, and cantors • Train, direct, and supervise choirs, instrumental groups, and cantors • Recruit and schedule various ensembles, including the Handbell Choir and Children's Choir • Help coordinate and plan music for special feasts, services, and functions • Supervise music staff in creating and implementing a cantor formation program • Expand the music ministry with new goals and ideas, such as concert series and involving children in liturgies • Work cooperatively with music directors from other parishes on special projects and programs • Purchase, catalog, and manage music materials, library holdings, and instruments • Make recommendations for instrument and sound equipment purchases and maintenance • Direct the development of a master plan for long-range direction of the parish music program and facilities Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in music, organ, or choral conducting • Minimum 5 years' experience in liturgical music • Minimum 2 years' choral directing experience, including ability to direct from the bench • Active member, in good standing, of the Roman Catholic Church preferred • Diocese of Dallas Safe Environment Certification required
