We are seeking an experienced and passionate Liturgy Director to lead our community in prayerful worship. Job Description: This person will also serve as principal musician, keyboardist, and choir director, providing music and musicians for weekend Masses, Holy Days, and other celebrations. Duties and Responsibilities: • Function as principal keyboardist and choir director: chimes, youth and adult choirs • Provide music and musicians for all weekend Masses, Holy Days, Funeral Masses, Baptisms, Funerals, Confirmation Mass, First Communion Mass, Reconciliation Services, etc. • Plan special liturgies throughout the year in coordination with the Pastor • Consult with families preparing for funerals/weddings for liturgical planning: musicians, ministers, music, readings, and petitions • Demonstrate understanding of liturgical documents and keep up to date with liturgical directives from the Bishop • Provide leadership and hands-on help to volunteers who create the prayerful environment for weekend Masses, liturgical seasons, and Holy Days of Obligation • Recruit, train, and supply ongoing formation of Keyboardists and Cantors • Knowledgeable in database system Ministry Scheduler Pro to create ministry schedule for weekend Masses and holy days of obligation with multiple notification formats: printed documents, email, and online database • Communicate well with ministers for all liturgical needs, planning well in advance of liturgical seasons • Maintain piano and organ in good order • Updates and keeps current needed worship subscriptions and licenses • Work with finance manager to create and sustain budget for liturgy and music • Attend staff meetings and report on liturgical needs and upcoming important dates • Values prayer life as necessary foundation for successful liturgical ministry
