Liturgical Musician (Pianist/Organist)

**Overview:** St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church is seeking a skilled and versatile Liturgical Musician to accompany one of our choirs in partnership with our Music Director, cantors, and psalmists. This part-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to the spiritual life of our community and grow in scope over time. **Responsibilities:** • Accompany one of our choirs with fluency from printed scores in a variety of formats • Play a variety of Church music styles with accuracy from printed scores • Demonstrate strong sight-reading capabilities • Receive, accept, and respond appropriately to direction from the Director or Leader regarding tempo, dynamics, and interpretive aspects of music • Understand and/or rapidly assimilate the role of music in Catholic liturgy and its cyclical variations • Collaborate with the Music Director, cantors, and psalmists to enhance the worship experience • *Qualifications:** • Bachelor's degree in music preferred, but applicants with equivalent experience may also be considered • Stylistic versatility and ability to play from printed scores in various formats • Strong sight-reading capabilities • Ability to receive and respond to direction from the Director or Leader • Understanding of the role of music in Catholic liturgy and/or liturgical music (candidates with existing knowledge will be given enhanced consideration) • *Benefits:** • Opportunity to contribute to the spiritual life of a vibrant Catholic community • Part-time position with potential for growth and development • Collaborative work environment with a dedicated team of musicians and liturgical leaders • Opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in liturgical music and Catholic worship practices
