Position: Local Event Producer & Promoter (freelance, commission only) Freelance Local ProducerJoin a global network of entrepreneurial community builders and taste makers. In this freelance, commission‑based partnership you’ll design, coordinate, and execute Sofar shows in your city, collaborating with local artists, venues, and partners.This independent role is ideal for self‑starters who want full ownership of how Sofar appears in their local community.What you’ll doGrow Sofar’s brand locally and promote and sell tickets through self‑directed marketing tactics.Develop a city‑wide strategy for shows, neighborhoods, and themes.Lead curation and booking of high‑quality, diverse artists and venues, expanding networks as needed.Ensure staffing and show quality, creating hospitality‑focused experiences.Manage financial performance and maintain the health of each event.Build relationships with local businesses for sponsor ships and private events.Partner with like‑minded local organizations to broaden reach and co‑promote shows.Collaborate with other local leaders to amplify Sofar’s brand and generate buzz.Support Sofar’s Business Partnerships and Global Communities teams by delivering high‑quality curation and seamless operations for partnership opportunities.Who you areHave deep connections to your local scene and actively build community around it.Have 3‑5 years of experience in live‑event curation, production, and promotion.Have experience selling event sponsor ships or marketing activations, preferably in live events or experiential marketing.Are confident pitching partnership concepts and have a history of closing deals.Have a strong pulse on your city’s neighborhoods and where people spend free time.Excel at building relationships with diverse community‑driven organizations, media partners, or local businesses that add strategic and financial value.Understand how to promote and build alliances that increase ticket sales.Take pride in your work, approach opportunities with professionalism and ownership, and ensure the best experience for artists, venues, partners, and guests.Have exceptional time‑management skills and communicate clearly.Work autonomously while staying connected to the broader organization.Commission‑based pay ranges from $100 to $500+ per event, with overall monthly earnings between $100 and $5,000, depending on ticket prices, show volume, and performance.Some cities may already have active Producers; you’ll collaborate with other local leaders as needed.If our mission and this role resonate, we encourage you to apply—even if your experience doesn’t precisely match the description.
