Music and Band Teacher / Music Minister

St. Brendan High School in Miami is seeking to hire a qualified and experienced full-time High School Music & Band Teacher / Music Minister. The teacher is expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for High School Music & Band. The Music & Band Teacher / Music Minister performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Music Education, Instrumental Performance or related field • Florida Department of Education Certification in Music K-12, preferred • Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience, preferred • Excellent classroom management skills • Knowledge in music theory, instrument-specific teaching methods and conducting, preferred • Experience in preparing a school choir and band/orchestra for competitions • Experience in directing a school choir to perform at weekly school Liturgies • Must be able to serve as Music Minister for school Liturgies • Must demonstrate the ability to effectively integrate technology into all aspects of instruction, including planning, delivery, assessment and communication • Must have clear and professional communication with students and parents • Good oral and written English-language communication skills, including clear speaking voice • Must have a professional demeanor • Must be supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church To apply: Please send cover letter, copies of certifications, list of professional references and resume to: [email protected].
