Summary: We are seeking a Liturgical Music Director to lead our parish's musical endeavors. This role involves planning and providing music for weekend masses, holy days, sacramental celebrations, and other events throughout the year. Key Responsibilities: • Plan and provide liturgical music for regular weekend masses, holy days, and special sacramental celebrations • Recruit, rehearse, direct, and accompany the parish choir, contemporary choir, bell choir, and cantors • Finding musicians for funerals, weddings, and other sacramental celebrations where the director does not accompany • Creating worship aids for Sunday masses and as needed • Procuring and maintaining musical instruments, books, and copyright licenses • Collaborate with the pastor for approval of all liturgical plans • Work with the liturgy committee for all liturgical activities and plans Requirements: • Knowledge of Liturgy and Music in the Catholic Church • Active in their Catholic faith • Background in music with proficiency in piano, organ, and/or other musical instruments • Proficiency in bells • Good interpersonal and organizational skills • Self-motivated, creative, and dependable • High standard of professional ethics
