Responsibilities

Plan and deliver dynamic music lessons tailored to students’ varying learning styles and developmental levels, ensuring alignment with curriculum standards.
Lead school band rehearsals, performances, and competitions to promote teamwork and showcase student achievements.
Develop and implement comprehensive music curricula that incorporate diverse musical genres and cultural backgrounds.
Adapt instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with disabilities or special education requirements using appropriate modifications and learning technology tools such as LMS (Learning Management Systems).
Assess student performance regularly through observations, performances, and standardized testing; analyze performance data to inform instructional adjustments.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and other staff to integrate music education into broader academic programs.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, upcoming performances, and ways to support musical development at home.

Skills

Proven experience in classroom teaching of music, with elementary school teaching experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of curriculum development, implementation, and instructional modifications for diverse learners.
Familiarity with LMS platforms, learning technology tools, and educational compliance standards related to arts education.
Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a positive learning environment through behavior management techniques.
Excellent communication skills for engaging students from diverse cultural backgrounds and working collaboratively with colleagues.
Expertise in teaching music theory, literacy education in music, performance techniques, and preparation for standardized testing related to arts assessments.
Experience working with children in private school settings is a plus; familiarity with childhood development principles is essential.
