Musical Minds is looking for music instructors to teach and/or assist group keyboard piano classes in elementary schools in Seattle and surrounding communities this Fall. This is a fun, after school program for kids, so we want people who not only play a little piano, but also know how to work with kids, how to motivate and inspire them! We have our own method books and program materials, including music learning games and activities, and we'll train you how to use them. Classes are on weekday afternoons on the school campuses.
Here are the basic job requirements:
Basic ability to play a musical instrument (piano or keyboard skills preferred).
Ability to work with young children in a group setting.
Punctual, reliable and responsible.
You must have a reliable vehicle with space to hold a few keyboards.
Available to work two to five weekday afternoons.
We teach kids to play their favorite pop songs and movie themes, so knowledge of what's current in music is a big plus. You will earn between $60 - $100 per class that you teach. Classes are usual one hour long.
It's a great part-time job for college students, retirees with music or teaching skills, and stay home moms or dads with afternoons free. Join us to have some fun teaching music skills to kids!
