ResponsibilitiesFilm and edit short-form content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other platformsAssist with artist interviews, concerts, studio sessions, events, and behind-the-scenes coverageCreate engaging content around emerging artists and Chicago music cultureHelp brainstorm new video concepts, interview formats, and recurring content seriesTurn long-form interviews and event footage into short, shareable clipsWrite captions, hooks, and basic promotional copyFollow music, social media, and youth-culture trendsOrganize footage and help maintain the FTY content calendarCollaborate with artists, photographers, videographers, and other FTY team membersIdeal CandidateCurrently enrolled in college and eligible to receive internship creditPassionate about music, entertainment, social media, and youth cultureInterested in building a career in content creation, music marketing, journalism, videography, or artist developmentComfortable filming content on a phone or cameraFamiliar with editing programs such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut ProUnderstands TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube ShortsCreative, reliable, organized, and willing to learnComfortable attending events and communicating with artistsKnowledge of Chicago’s emerging music scene is a plusWhat You’ll GainReal-world experience working in music media and entertainmentPublished work for your portfolioOpportunities to attend and cover concerts, interviews, studio sessions, and FTY eventsExperience collaborating directly with artists and creative professionalsProfessional references based on performanceMentorship and insight into music marketing, content production, event promotion, and artist developmentPotential consideration for future paid projects and opportunitiesCompensation and College CreditThis is an unpaid, educational internship intended for students seeking college credit.
