The ideal candidate will have a passion for music and the ability to mentor and lead a team of musicians. Duties • Lead regular music rehearsals, dictating the volume, phrasing and tempo of each piece, and conduct the group during performances throughout the year • Select music that will be a good fit for the musicians and offer a challenge, as well as appeal to your audience, and transpose music as needed • Examine musical scores to determine your interpretation and develop a deep understanding of the piece before presenting it to group members • Choose soloists for special events and coordinate rehearsals so soloists and groups can adequately prepare for events • Oversee staff daily as they copy and arrange music and provide coaching to the musicians • Upload tracks and lyrics so musicians and vocalists can listen to difficult sections of individual parts • Communicate with all company management through the appropriate channels to ensure effective collaboration.
