Music Director

**Overview:** Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Parish is seeking a Music Director to develop and sustain a prayerful, singing assembly at weekend Masses and other holy days, and to increase regular attendance. The ideal candidate will share the Catholic faith, have a deep understanding of liturgical music, and be able to integrate music into liturgy. **Responsibilities:** • Direct the choirs • Manage the weekend musicians • Perform duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami and Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Parish • Develop and sustain a prayerful, singing assembly at weekend Masses and other holy days • Increase regular attendance • *Qualifications:** • Bachelor's degree in music or equivalent • Minimum of 3 years' experience • Knowledge of the Roman Catholic liturgy and ability to integrate the music into liturgy • Thorough understanding of applied music, music theory, and the history of music • Mastery of a keyboard instrument used in liturgical celebration and voice/choral performance and conducting experience • Some knowledge of acoustics, especially pertaining to the parish worship space • Basic knowledge of theory and harmony • Demonstrated understanding of score reading and transposition of instruments • Knowledge of the vast repertoire of music available today, both contemporary and treasured, sacred pieces • Demonstrates sensitivity to the ethnic composition of the parish and its musical needs • Must be dependable and reliable • Basic skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint a plus • Good computer literacy, including ability to navigate online applications and search engines effectively • Excellent inter-personal skills, including ability to maintain focus on and professionalism with people in challenging situations • Good time management, including ability to manage several projects at the same time • Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church and parish structures • Must be supportive of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church • Must have a professional demeanor • *Benefits:** • Opportunities to grow and develop as a Music Director in a vibrant Catholic parish community • Collaborative and supportive work environment • Competitive salary and benefits package • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the spiritual lives of the parish community through music and liturgy
