Job Summary: Collaborates with the ministers, organist and other music leaders to design and implement meaningful worship services at St. Paul’s Christian Church, through the inclusion of vocal and instrumental music that supports the message. Responsibilities: • Direct the adult choir in leading hymns and singing anthems for the 11:00 am Sunday morning worship service every week. • Collaborate with leaders of the handbell choir and praise band to arrange times for those groups to provide special music in the 11:00 am Sunday worship service or to work together on joint musical pieces with the choir. • Comfortable with a variety of musical styles, including both classical and contemporary music and traditional church hymns (or enthusiasm for learning a variety of music) and a willingness to help bridge cultural and generational differences by selecting a balance of musical styles for worship that will have multi-generational appeal. This is a part-time position based in Raleigh, NC, with an estimated commitment of 6-8 hours per week for 9 months of the year (September through May).
