The Music Director is responsible for the administration of the parish liturgical music program and conducting the Choir that sings at the Sunday 9:30 AM Mass. Specific job duties include: • Create Mass music plans for Weekend Masses, Holy Days and Special Services • Select Mass parts for each liturgical season for uniformity across Masses • Help in planning liturgies for major feasts (Christmas, Palm Sunday, Holy Week, Easter Vigil & Easter Day, St Pius X Feast Day, etc.) • Schedule Sunday evening Mass Musicians • Schedule Cantors for liturgies without choir • Recruit, interview and audition contract musicians, cantors and choir members • Report live-streamed and/or printed music under license/copyright agreements • Create or review any printed worship aids that include music • Purchase music materials for cantors, accompanists, choirs, contracted musicians • Lead congregational singing as needed • Lead Choir rehearsals • Schedule maintenance of piano, organ, and other equipment used by musicians and choir • Lead contact for Sanctuary sound system This is a part-time position, requiring an average of 12-15 flexible hours per week, August through May, and 8-10 June and July. This position sometimes requires work in the evenings and on weekends.
