• Experience in directing ensembles and/or conducting choirs • Good organizational and planning skills Preferred • Undergraduate degree in music • Musical ability on guitar in addition to keyboard/piano and vocals • Familiarity with contemporary Christian worship consistent with Lutheran theology • Familiarity with or willingness to learn software (Planning Center, Pro Presenter, Canva) Responsibilities & Duties • Select appropriate music for worship services considering the skill of the worship ensembles and scriptural/sermon themes • Provide music for most Sunday and midweek (seasonal) services • Be in communication with pastor and church secretary • Attend bi-weekly staff meeting • Schedule and oversee worship teams and tech team • Determine key/arrangements of songs and distribute copies to worship teams • Rehearse with worship/tech teams on a weekly basis • Proofread weekly slides • Lead worship team in prayer before each service • Purchase new music as necessary • Maintain music catalog and files (song bank) • Direct seasonal choir (Christmas/Easter) • Offer worship input to Pastor for special services • Play for weddings and funerals, if available • Be professional in appearance and performance Salary and Benefits: Part-time, 20.5 hours per week.
