The South Reno United Methodist Church seeks a talented and dynamic Music Program Leader to oversee and direct the church’s music as part of the leadership team to spread the light of Christ. Our goal is to have a music program that includes opportunities for participation and musical expression for congregants of all ages and all musical genres.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities· Plan, prepare, coordinate and lead music during worship for Sunday (9:30am), online and special services.· Collaborate with the minister to choose God’s vision for music to fit sermon themes and work with the church pianist.· Create an active recruitment plan to expand and strengthen music.· Coordinate individual performers and small groups of volunteer congregants to provide music (including and beyond the adult choir, bell choir and children's music). Consulting music selection and organize the musical calendar.· Direct the adult all-volunteer, non-auditioned, choir performing on scheduled Sunday’s from September through June.· Participate in leadership team meetings. Work with staff slides and music for worship services.
