About the position The Music Director is responsible for planning, coordinating, and providing music that enhances worship and reflects the teachings, traditions, and liturgical norms of the Roman Catholic Church. This role collaborates closely with clergy, staff, and volunteers to foster a prayerful and engaging musical environment. Responsibilities Plan and provide music for weekend Masses, Holy Days, weddings, funerals, and special liturgiesSelect liturgically appropriate music in accordance with Catholic guidelinesDirect and rehearse choirs, cantors, and musiciansRecruit, train, and support volunteer and paid musiciansCollaborate with clergy and liturgy team for seasonal and sacramental planningCoordinate music schedules and ensure coverage for all liturgiesMaintain and oversee music library, instruments, and sound equipmentWork with couples and families to plan music for weddings and funeralsEnsure compliance with copyright licensing requirementsFoster active congregational participation in music and worshipRequirements
