The Music Director will assist in the hiring of pit musicians and the conducting of the orchestra for performances ... To support our over 25 parks and facilities we have a dedicated and diverse workforce of over 500 staff seasonally. The Music Director is responsible for working with the Director in preparing the production, including casting, rehearsing the vocalists and pit musicians (as applicable), conducting the orchestra and assisting the Cultural Arts and Special Events Supervisor in the hiring of musicians as applicable to the production. • Attend production meetings and rehearsals as needed. • Set an example of professional behavior in rehearsal and performances that encourages harmonious relationships and teamwork, centered on the purpose of creating a successful production • Supervise pit musicians to ensure proper safety, care of equipment, and cleanliness of space • Assures distribution and collection of music scripts to cast and musicians.
