Music Directors

Dumas R.I.S.E. We are seeking a Music Director who can provide leadership across multiple musical projects and support the growth and coordination of our vocal and band talent. Position Overview The Music Director provides musical leadership and coordination for various vocalists, bands, and musical projects affiliated with Dumas R.I.S.E. musical offerings Rehearsal Planning & Leadership Proactively schedule rehearsals at a minimum of once per month Coordinate rehearsals for individual vocalists and group projects Lead or co-lead rehearsals with clear goals and structure Ensure rehearsals are scheduled and occur consistently Preparation & Communication Distribute song lists, keys, charts, and reference tracks in advance Ensure performers receive materials 1-2 weeks prior to rehearsals or performances Communicate expectations clearly and professionally Performance & Project Support Provide musical leadership for live performances as needed Support alignment between vocalists and musicians during shows Assist in maintaining professionalism and readiness among performers What We're Looking For Strong musical background (vocal and/or instrumental) Experience directing vocalists, bands, choirs, or ensembles Organized, reliable, and proactive Comfortable managing multiple projects and personalities Aligned with culturally centered, community-rooted creative work Compensation Monthly retainer, based on experience and scope Compensation will be discussed during the interview process.
