Music Education and Assistant Director of Bands Job at University of South Flori

POSITION DESCRIPTION:The School of Music at the University of South Florida is searching for a creative and collaborative individual to serve as the Instructor of Music Education and Assistant Director of Bands. Anticipated start date is August 2025 or earlier depending on the availability of the successful candidate and the needs of the school.QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):Minimum Qualifications:Doctorate (PhD, DMA, etc.) in music, four years band directing experience at the secondary school level (including marching and concert ensembles).Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated involvement with contemporary trends in concert bands and music education including learner-centered pedagogical concepts. Evidence of administrative and program development skills. The ideal candidate has a record of excellent teaching at the university level, collaboration with colleagues, documented evidence of artistic conducting, and digital recording, mixing, and producing proficiencies.
