About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Music Educator to join our team. Duties and Responsibilities: - Collaborate with the Department of Fine Arts, Humanities, and Wellness to develop and implement music curriculum goals and objectives - Work closely with the Director of University Bands and Bachelor of Fine Arts degree program coordinator to plan and conduct hearings, juries, rehearsals, performances, and events - Provide instruction and guidance to students, focusing on improving their musical abilities and ensemble skills - Assist in instrument maintenance and manage inventory - Support student recruitment and retention efforts - Cultivate an inclusive and positive band culture, promoting teamwork, discipline, and artistic expression - Assist the Director of Bands in coordinating band trips and performances - Perform assigned administrative tasks related to the band program - May be required to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description Preferred Qualifications: - Strong conducting and rehearsal techniques, with the ability to effectively communicate musical concepts - Familiarity with band literature across genres and periods, including contemporary and traditional works - Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to interact with students, faculty, and staff - Proficiency in instrumental pedagogy, with the ability to support students' technical and musical development - Experience in arranging music for bands or ensemble groups - Ability to contribute to department service needs, such as recruitment, community engagement, and program development - Demonstrated involvement in professional organizations and a record of continued professional growth Salary and Benefits: The salary range is competitive, reflecting the value we place on our employees' contributions.
