Music Instructor - Drums, Vocals, Guitar, Bass, and/or Keys

School of Rock San Diego is hiring drum, vocal, guitar, bass, and/or keys teachers.

School of Rock is the original performance based music program combined with one-on-one lessons. We want to inspire our students to rock on stage and in life! We are currently looking for talented musicians to lead our students in vocals.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Music Instruction:

Maximize the quality of music instruction including private lessons and shows.Be sure the students are learning the fundamentals of music, not just songs.Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.Customer Connection:

Communicate regularly with parents on progress of students after lessons.Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible in the school.Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance in the school.SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Musicians with lots of stage and recording experience strongly preferredExperience teaching and/or performing music professionallyKnowledge of music theory and lesson planningExcellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers and other peopleStrong organizational skillsVery strong customer relations skillsResourceful and good problem-solverWorks well under pressureIdeal candidate is a working musician who also has formal music school trainingEnthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanorGood judgment a mustPassion for teachingMulti-Instrumentalists are a plusJob Type: Part-time

Pay starts at $21.00 per hour

Monday through Thursday 1:15pm-8:15pm and Saturday 10:15am-5:15pmWork Location:
