The School of Rock Little Wing and Rookies Instructors will help create a warm, supportive and inspiring environment for young musicians aged 4-7. Many of our instructors have broader musical talent as well which we do our best to engage.Music Instruction:Maximize the quality of music instruction including private lessons and showsBe sure the students are learning the fundamentals of music, not just songsCreate and document thoughtful lesson plansCustomer Connection:Communicate regularly with parents on the progress of students after lessonsInteract with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible in the schoolPitch in during canceled lessons in the overall execution of the programAssist in rehearsals and basic maintenance at schoolAssist in recruiting and enrolling studentsSkill Requirements:4 + years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionallyHas a passion for and/or experience working with children under the age of seven (7)Classroom/early childhood education experience preferred.Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design; concepts in music like rhythm, notation, pop and rock genresExcellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers, including but not limited to, children and parentsEnthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanorStrong organizational skillsVery strong customer relations skills on the phone and in personResourceful and good problem-solverWorks well under pressureThe ideal candidate is proficient on at least one: guitar, keyboard/piano, drums, voice.Good judgment is a mustPart-time, some weekend day availability required.It is the policy of the School of Rock to provide equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
