The Music Residency program is an eleven-month opportunity beginning in September for a recent college graduate exploring a possible call to professional church service, including music ministry and/or ordained ministry. Anyone who wishes to learn, to grow, and to serve can find a place in the music program at Westminster. Purpose: To explore a vocational call to ministry with a focus on the music ministries of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Responsibilities: • Regular participation and leadership of worship and choir rehearsals • Weekly participation in staff meetings (includes pastors and administrative staff) • Rotating participation in the ongoing ministry programs for all ages, with the goal of learning and understanding the scope of large church ministry • Participation in church governance • Explore a vocational call in ministry through regular meetings with pastors • Work alongside the pastoral staff and music associate • Practice (organ, piano, voice) on a regular basis About you, the Ideal Team Member: • You have a degree in music • You have a strong keyboard background (both piano and organ preferred) • You have demonstrated interest in church music and liturgy • You are knowledgeable about choral and keyboard repertoire • You have a background with handbells, or an interest in learning • You have experience in choral conducting • You are energized by working with people of all ages and walks of life.
