Role Description The Music Teacher is a part-time, on-site role based in Tampa, FL. The teacher will provide individual and small-group instruction in violin, viola, cello, and/or piano (depending on expertise), focusing on solid technical foundations, music literacy, and ensemble readiness. Daily responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons, preparing students for ensemble rehearsals, recitals, and performances, and providing clear feedback on musical progress.

The teacher will collaborate with other faculty to align curriculum, support leveling courses, and contribute to advanced workshops and ensemble coaching. Additional duties include maintaining accurate student records, communicating with families about progress and goals, and upholding a positive, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment.

Qualifications

Valid U.S. work authorization required
Minimum 1 year of teaching experience
Strong foundation in Music Theory and general Music knowledge, with the ability to teach concepts clearly to different age groups and skill levels
Demonstrated Music Performance experience, ideally including orchestral, chamber, or ensemble settings
Background in Music Education, including experience planning curriculum, assessing student progress, and adapting teaching methods to diverse learners
Proficiency in Piano and/or orchestral string instruments (violin, viola, cello), with the ability to model proper technique and musical expression
Bachelor's degree or higher in Music, Music Education, or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience
Experience teaching children and adults in both individual and group lesson formats
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to an inclusive, respectful, and growth-oriented classroom culture
Ability to work on-site in Tampa, FL, maintain a consistent teaching schedule, and collaborate effectively with faculty and families
Prior ensemble or orchestral coaching experience and familiarity with performance preparation are highly beneficial
