St. John School in Fenton is seeking a faith-filled, enthusiastic Music Teacher to serve students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade, including general music instruction and band.
This position plays an important role in fostering a love for music while supporting the spiritual, academic, and personal growth of our students within a Catholic school environment.
Responsibilities:
Provide engaging general music instruction for grades K-8Lead and develop the school band program for grades 5-8Introduce foundational music skills (vocal, instrumental, theory, and appreciation)Prepare students for school performances, liturgies, and special eventsCollaborate with faculty and administration to support the mission of St. John SchoolIntegrate Catholic values and traditions into music instruction Qualifications:Valid Michigan teaching certification or actively working toward certificationPracticing Catholic committed to the mission of Catholic educationExperience teaching music and/or directing band preferredStrong classroom management and organizational skillsAbility to inspire students of varying musical abilities Preferred Skills:Experience with beginning band instruction (woodwinds, brass, percussion)Familiarity with liturgical music and school Mass preparationAbility to teach a range of grade levels with age-appropriate methods About St. John School:
