MUSIC THERAPIST for Adaptive Lessons-Piano, Guitar-Immediate

Other duties may be assigned. Through musical involvement in the therapeutic context, clients' abilities are strengthened and transferred to other areas of their lives. Must demonstrate an understanding of music concepts and be able to communicate those concepts to students Must play a musical instrument(s) or sing at a professional level of competence Must demonstrate the ability to run sound equipment Must be able to receive constructive feedback on teaching techniques and apply the feedback to new teaching situations, and environments Must be able to be physically present at B2R for scheduled lessons Ability to interact effectively with the public Ability to operate basic office equipment, i.e. telephones, photocopiers and computers Effective time management and organizational skills Ability to work effectively with staff and management Adaptable to changes in the workplace Ability to pass a background check Education, Work Experience and/or Licensure Board certified with degree in Music Therapy from accredited program Teaching certificate and/or degree in music performance or education is preferred; those who are currently enrolled in a music degree program will also be considered Experience in the subject area and/or professional musical performance may be substituted for degree or licensure Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software Language Skills Must be proficient in English speaking and writing skills Additional language(s) are a plus Physical Demands The physical demands listed here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of his/her job. Requirements: Must demonstrate an understanding of music concepts and be able to communicate those concepts effectively to students Must have an advanced understanding of music theory and technique relevant to primary instrument Effective time management and organizational skills to keep students on task in a lesson Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of personalities Experienced performer (either solo or group) Experience working with youth and/or beginning musicians Ability to interact effectively with children and adults Ability to pass a background check Bach to Rock offers the opportunity to work a flexible part time schedule in a fun environment with other like-minded musicians.
