We need a person who loves music and has the heart of a teacher. This is a part-time position where you set the hours you're available.

Responsibilities

Help older clients sing, play instruments such as recorders, harmonicas, ukuleles, piano, etc., and enjoy music together. Basic instruments can be provided.Visit clients in their homes through regular visits.Personalize sessions to each client's interests and abilities.Create a welcoming and positive experience.Qualifications

Enjoys music and working with people of different ages and backgrounds.Patient, empathetic, dependable, and a good listener.Comfortable singing or playing at least one instrument, or facilitating simple musical activities.Willing to complete required training and background checks.Why Join Us?

Role Description The Musical Companion role is a part-time, flexible position based in Cedar Rapids, IA. You choose the schedule. Daily tasks may include playing instruments or singing with older adults, leading small group or one-on-one musical activities.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess basic musical skills such as proficiency in at least one instrument or voice, and basic knowledge of rhythm and melody.Candidates should possess organizational and reliability skills, such as time management, consistent attendance, and the ability to follow schedules and documentation requirements.Candidates should possess adaptability and problem-solving skills, including the ability to adjust musical activities to client preferences.
