Job Description: The musical instrument repair technician is responsible for estimating cost of and providing skilled repairs, overhauls, adjustments and preventative maintenance services to an assigned class of musical instruments and related equipment: woodwind, brass, percussion, strings, and cases; proper storage, organization, and presentation of musical instruments, supplies, etc; verifying equipment inventory, ensuring adequate materials are available to complete assignments in a timely manner; communication of repair/service recommendations and compensation estimates with clients, maintenance and organization of related tools and general workspace in collaboration with co-workers; under the guidance of the general manager. Skill Requirements: An instrument repair technician must possess the ability to quickly diagnose issues and potential problems with musical instruments and be able to play each instrument at a minimal level. The ability to work independently and be self-motivated are essential to success. Estimates are expected to be a part of the daily routine. Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
