Musician

Duties of the position shall be as follows: (1) All duties described in the ORGANIST/PIANIST JOBDESCRIPTION, as adopted by the Graceham Moravian Church (copy attached); (2) Play the organ, piano or keyboard for hymns, songs and liturgy scheduled for Sunday morning services and other regularly scheduled services; (3) Play appropriate incidental music for all services, including, but not limited to: preludes, offertories, and postludes; (4) In the event a choir is formed (none presently exist), direct and accompany said choir when performing at regular and/or special church services; Rehearse with choirs 15 minutes prior to the service when performing, and one evening per week (mutually agreeable day and time to be determined); (6) Play for special services, concerts and other programs (i.e., Community services held at Graceham Moravian Church, Spring and Christmas Concerts, etc. PTO days will not need to be used if church services are canceled. The Organist/Pianist shall be directly responsible to, and may receive feedback from the Pastor for the worship services, and to the Joint Board of the congregation for terms of service. Additional compensation for weddings and funeral services shall be negotiated between the Organist/Pianist and principals involved (See item 4 of the ORGANIST/PIANIST JOB DESCRIPTION below). AT some point in the future, should there be sufficient interest in starting a choir the person in this position shall play for and direct regular weekly choir rehearsals, and accompany and direct their singing for the worship services.
