The Gifts of Art program at Michigan Medicine invites applications for the position of Musician for the Hospital Music Program. This position is for a talented, trained musician with an expansive and varied repertoire of appropriate music and knowledge of hospital environments and competencies to provide comforting ambient live music to help calm the environment of care for patients, visitors and staff. Key Responsibilities : • Provide appropriate comforting music in public spaces within UM Hospitals • Audition, schedule and monitor volunteer musicians in public areas/waiting areas • Provide experiential opportunities for university music students in healthcare environments • Host Gifts of Art hospital public music performances as needed • Provide background music for special programs • Other duties as assigned Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. The review and selection process may begin as early as the eighth day after posting.
