Musician for Dance Performances

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with instructors to select and adapt music for dance classes. Responsibilities: • Accompany modern dance and ballet classes with consideration for style and musicality • Work with instructors to select appropriate musical accompaniment and make adaptations as needed • Provide high-quality musical support to enhance the learning experience for students Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree in Music or equivalent experience • At least one year of experience playing for dance classes at a collegiate, professional, or pre-professional level • Ability to sight-read music and improvise in various styles • Knowledge of ballet terminology and ability to learn new material quickly About Us: Virginia Commonwealth University is committed to providing an inclusive and supportive environment for all students and faculty.
