Plays a musical instrument and/or its related double in the Hawai`i County or West Hawai`i band at public performances; and performs other related duties as assigned. Special Working Conditions • Hawai‘i County Band: Works irregular hours: Must be able to work Tuesday and Thursday evenings for rehearsals, weekends and holidays for performances; average of 18 hours per month. • West Hawai'i Band: Works irregular hours: Must be able to work Tuesday evenings for rehearsals, weekends and holidays for performances; average of 9 hours per month. Knowledge of: the musical instrument(s) to which assigned, including literature, history, and performance techniques; the fundamentals of music and playing in a concert band/orchestra; musical compositions for the instrument(s) assigned.
