Actionplay: Assistant Music Director for a Disability-Inclusive ChoirDescriptionActionplay, a neuroinclusive theatre nonprofit, is looking for an Assistant Choir Director. In the Actionplay Voices Choir, autistic, neurodivergent, and disabled singers, ages 15+, work on performing songs they want to sing as an ensemble, performing publicly 2-5 times throughout the year.
The Assistant Choir Director will help facilitate rehearsals for the Voices Choir, working one-on-one with individual ensemble members to support and accommodate them, while also offering any assistance necessary to the Music Director to make sure rehearsals run smoothly.
Composed of amateur and professional neurodivergent and disabled singers, The Actionplay Voices Choir performs pop and theatre hits of the past and present with harmony and gusto. The Voices Choir has performed with “Weird Al” Yankovic, Cynthia Erivo, and Keegan-Michael Key on Night of Too Many Stars. The Choir has also sung with the Greenwich Village Orchestra, at Lincoln Center, at Adelphi University, and at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music.
